Residents Began to Pack Lebaran Betawi at Monas

Jakarta residents throng Lebaran Betawi festival in National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, Saturday (5/20).

Let's celebrate Lebaran Betawi, this is our form of preserving culture

Based on beritajakarta.id, residents continued to come to enjoy attractions, such as performances of Betawi art, Gambang Kromong, Tanjidor to drum attraction.

Wahyuni (36), together with her husband and two children admitted she chose to spend the weekend off by visiting Lebaran Betawi and exploring Monas. She then took her two children to introduce Betawi culture and arts through this festival.

"I have Betawi descent, children also study art at school, so I introduce them to Betawi culture. We want to see the art, culture. My children also wants to see ondel-ondel performances," she expressed, a resident of Cakung, East Jakarta.

Besides attracting adult visitors, it also attracts teenagers, one of them is Jihan (18), a resident of Ciganjur, South Jakarta.

She is enthusiastic whenever there is an event that promotes Betawi culture. As a result, residents are socialized, educated, and support the preservation of Indonesian culture, especially Betawi.

"Because I want to know my own culture, see art with its musical instruments, its characteristics and Betawi food. Let's celebrate Lebaran Betawi, this is our form of preserving culture. Recognize, explore, and protect," she exclaimed.
